The CAHSI workshops target Hispanic students and faculty, and focus on development of effective skills for career and academic success. The development workshop intervention addresses the lack of awareness of graduate programs, lack of role models, and lack of mentoring and leadership. In addition to developing strategies for success, the workshops will build mentoring communities. The students and faculty who obtain timely information and develop the skills addressed by the workshops will be more capable of planning, managing and building their careers, better able to take advantage of opportunities that befall them, and generally increase their likelihood of success. The lead institution is UPR-M. Students and faculty from the participating Alliance institutions and beyond will be invited to participate.
